A highly creative and forward
thinker, Tripp has over the years utilized his technological savvy to capitalize on ingenious
emerging developments ranging from CD-ROMs and DVDs to the unlimited possibilities of the Web – all
of which have revolutionized the way we think, communicate and market.
A native of Roswell, New Mexico, Tripp was intrigued with media at an early age, and knew it would be his career path even during his high school years in military school. An internship at a local news station which allowed him to learn the business by wearing many hats led Tripp to pursue his BA degree in Television/Film Production from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. His move to Hollywood ultimately piqued Tripp’s interest in digital editing and graphics animation, resulting in his pursuing certification in Graphics and Animation from UCLA as well as in an impressive chain of advancing positions.
As senior artist/project manager for Highway One Media Entertainment, Tripp spearheaded the firm’s CD-ROM projects at a time when that medium was just getting off the ground. His responsibilities ranged from video production coordination to supervision of graphics, copy, platform testing and technical support, with such major titles as Bonnie Raitt’s Burning Down the House, No Doubt Just A Girl, Jackson Browne’s Looking East and The Doors Greatest Hits to his credit. senior artist for EntertainNet, then joined AIX Media Group as art director in charge of conceptualizing, designing and animating DVD user interface for such hits as Time Out With Britney Spears, Grateful Dead: Anthem to Beauty,Die Hard Trilogy and more. In 1999, recognition of Tripp’s superior creative and management capabilities was taken to a new level, as he was entrusted with the sole responsibility of opening and running the company’s New York City operation. Prior to applying his years of broad-based experience in broadcast design, editing and animation to his own thriving business, Tripp worked as senior designer for IKA SpotShop, now IKA Collective. Bank of America, Bantam Books, Breyer’s Ice Cream, Continental Airlines, Pitney Bowes, Scholastic and Showtime have been among his major clients.
Through his brainchild, Tripp Bassett Design, Tripp offers a wide range of professional services including broadcast design and animation for television, DVD/CD-ROM, web interface development and design; print design for ads, brochures, corporate collateral, identity systems, signage, posters and package design; plus strategic campaigns for branding, advertising, logo development, promotions and package design.
